Fire Damage Attic Insulation Must GO! Soot filled insulation the must be removed

After the devastating fire, you think about your belongings and memories. You might think about the structure of your home depending on the extent of the fire. What most people who are fire victims do not think about is the soot left behind from the smoke. Depending on what burned effects the fire's smoke and soot. IE how sticky the soot is and how hard it can be to clean. We have trained professionals who know how to clean soot, but unfortunately not everything can be cleaned. Insulation, for one, cannot be cleaned. We would have to come in a remove it so that your home doesn't continue to smell of fire. In this picture, you can see an effected attic where all the insulation must go. We know the restoration process can be more extensive then you expected but you can rest easy knowing we get the job done right and make it "Like it never even happened."

Fire Damage Fire Cobwebs Cobwebs effected by smoke damage

Some people ask us if it is truly necessary to clean every room the smoke went into. They will glance at a room and think to themselves "This room doesn't look dirty. Why have them clean it?" Here is why. In this photo, you can see cobwebs in this client’s garage. Cobwebs are a white or slightly gray. The cobwebs captured here are quite clearly dark gray and black. This is a sign of soot. After we finish our job and leave, you might walk into your garage and still smell fire and you don't know why. Even if you clean the cobwebs, we say, if it got on the cobwebs, it got on the walls and ceiling and contents. We promise we will fix everything, if you can remember we are “Here to Help.”

When it Rains it Pours

Storm Damage When it Rains it Pours The entry of the flood

Storms are very devastating events. When a rain storm hits and just won’t let up damage is sure to follow. That is what happened in this lady’s situation. From the months of December to March there was practically non-stop rain in our community. This caused an abundance of pooling in areas that are not designed for a large amount of rain. In this home, after about two months of rain, the back yard could not take anymore and it started flooding into this client’s home. What some people don't realize about rain water causing floods is that the water is “Black Water." Though the water is straight from the sky, it become contaminated the moment it touched the ground. This is because the water is flowing over animal waste, weed killer, dirt, and many other possible variables. We had to take special care to remove all wooden material that was not savable and dry out all material that was left. Now our client is being moved in and the storm is behind us.

Fire Damage Thank Goodness for Fire Walls The fire wall in master bedroom

On a warm spring day, this home owner decided to re-stain her patio furniture as she does every year. Though the rags set out forty-eight hours, when she threw them in her plastic garbage bin, they combusted. This caused a fire in her garbage, her shed, and the side of her house. Thankfully these clients had a fire wall. It was extremely impressive how helpful the fire wall does. If it wasn't for their fire wall, a majority of their home would have been destroyed. We were on the scene so quick that the home owners were thrilled with our services. When a fire strikes we know how devastating it can be, thankfully the damage was minimized do to their fire wall. If you can invest in a fire wall for your home, it could save the day.
